I've been told by several BMW dealers that doing anything to the factory stereo voids my warranty. Now, I wasn't born yesterday, so I understand that logic. But I've also heard from a few car audio folke about the "fiber optics" used in my "5".
Just how careful do I have to be here ? Although I've done a few replacments myself in the past, I'm thinking of finding someone to do it for me this time. And I want to pick carefully.
The factory unit is the combo am/fm cassette with the changer in the trunk.
I'd like to install a unit that will either load multiple CDs in the head unit of just
be a single play head unit with MP3 capability. I'd like it to "Blend in" as much as possible. I don't like that "add on" look.
I've looked at Alpine, etc. ...maybe the changer with MP3 capability and a new head unit?
Can anybody comment ? Any ideas ? If this is really possible with a 2000 528i and
it doesn't present any real problems, I really appreciate some feedback.
