Normally you just punch in the code, however if its the wrong code, or the radio has been replaced at sometime and the code you have is wrong, theres only one way, thats down the dealers, who will pull the radio as on the back is the security code and the radio also is protected via the alarm system. If you go down the dealers take proof of ownership, If however I find out anything else I will get bak to you.

mine did the same thing. It would beep when I was in the middle of punching in the code and manual stated to stop, wait and re enter. I finally just drove the car for about an hour or so and re entered the code and it finally took. hope this helps.

Bear is an unknown quantity at this point
Resetting the Radio Code

Try this, put key in ignition, turn key to position 1,turn radio to on and wait one hour with key in position 1, then try the code again.

Thumbs up

I have a 1994 740il and had the same problem. The one hour thing works. I turned on the key to position one but did not turn the radio on and had it sit for an hour. Then punch in the code.

Good luck.

If you have tried all, then you must have the wrong code, the only way to do it now is take it to an audio fitter whom will plug it in to a comp an recode it/find the code for you.
