Unhappy Four tones coming from the speakers....

Hello,
I drive 02' 745i and started to hear the four annoying tones coming from the speakers. The sound comes on randomly and with no error messages on the
screen. Has anyone experienced same issue? I've seen a few mechanics and no one has any ideas to what's wrong.

Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by four tones. Possibly a more indepth description could help us better understand what you are hearing and help you find the problem. Even better would be a video or audio clip of these sounds.

let us know.

I get four consecutive beeps with about half of a second to one second interval in between beeps. Since it happens randomly it is impossible for me to catch when it happens. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

i do know that there is a memo button on the obc's in 3 series which when it is enabled it chimes 3 times every 30 or 60 min... maybe there is a similar setting on the 7 series? look through your owners manual about the on board computer and see if it has anything like "memos" or anything.

hopefully someone with a 7 will chime in (no pun intended) , but i havent ever owned one so my knowledge is limited...

edit: there are also chimes when the weather gets below 37 degrees to warn you to look for ice...

Okay, I will try. Thanks for your help! The chimes that I am getting are different from the temperature ones.

crewdog_843 is an unknown quantity at this point
With the 2002 seven series, anything is possible. When you hear the chimes, is your radio on or off (not that I know anything about the 2002, because I do not), but it might jog something in someone else's memory who also owns a 2002 or later car. My 2001 chimes at me on the hour only because I have it set in memory and also at 37 degrees.

Here's a suggestion: There are several other forums out there where you might get some advice. One in particular: dub dub dub dot bimmerfest dot com has a lot of folks with 2002 and younger cars, and www. bimmerforums.com has a lot of folks with 2001 and earlier cars (pre-Bangle Butt as we say). Ask your question up there and see what hits you get.
