Thanks . I did! I made sure all the connections were properly connected. som one told me that because i didnt disconect the battery post. But im not sure...
yep! you have to disconnect BOTH battery terminals and let the car discharge for about 5 mins... it will prevent the airbags from erroring or going off

the right way is to disconnect the battery before working on any airbag items.
but as long as you don't turn on the ignition while you working on it, it shouldn't report a fault.
but once a fault is stored, the only way to get rid of it is to use a scanner.

.... You HAVE TO disconnect BOTH battery termanals.... Failure to do so could cause a Fauld to be stored OR the stored energy could cause the airbag to deploy! ALWAYS diconnect BOTH termanals and wait 5 mins for everything to discharge....

You need to pick up one of these like I did, or bring it to a dealer! The stealership will charge you about the same price of the tool & even try to sell you some crap that you need something you really don't! So just buy the tool , & you always have it for any future mishaps! Disconnecting the battery will not work on our cars, I ran into the same problem & tried that, it did not work.

Man, I do this for a living. I know what you say is right, but I am just saying you don't have to on a BMW.
