I was looking at my e24 and e38 nose to nose and was thinking I want that car(e38) in this body(e24). So it looks like I can get a good Wreaked e38 for around 2k-3k and then Slowly rewire the e38 to have connectors for the e24(such as tail lights) to keep the e24 classic look but have the e38 Modern accessories.... and use:
Wiring harness
Engine
Tranny(switch to auto a sin
)
Gauge cluster
Nav?(if I can find one with it
)
All smog equipment(legally required
)
Bluetooth(doing it to the e38 to..)
Steering wheel and buttons(one of my favorate features ever!)????
Front memory seats
Thats all I can think of for now
... and yes this would be a 300hp(Chip, Intake and Exhaust. based on the e38) N/A V8 e24 with loads of modern accesories??? win win
?? still looking at all the wiring And fitment issues (my e24's harness is really messed up from the fog light short/fire incedent) so what do you guys think.... I have all the tools and know I can do this mentally and physically.... Only thing is would it be at all worth it? My m30 has 245k miles on it and will be due for a rebuild at some point in the near future.... So I was thinking would it be worth rebuilding the m30 and spending time modding new stuff to work with the old or swap in all the new from a donar car? Ok thats enough for now... I've been thinkin of this for monthes but figure you would call me nuts or think it was a stupid idea....
