This last weekend I removed my trans to find out why it refuses to go into reverse and couldnt find anything wrong internally. It shifts in every other gear easily. ..Help, I am needing a rebuilt or used Getrag 260 5 speed, I know I can use a different gearbox but I just paid $475 for a new driveshaft and dont want to get this one redone. I also am having a problem in that I am not getting fire to the plugs now, I know I had to unhook 2 sensors on the side of the bellhousing but wonder if they may have got damaged and causing the problem. I have had firing problems inthe past I have to try to start the car 2 to 3 times before it will fire up every day and sometimes just shuts off while driving. Any help would be appreciated.

Those are your T.D.C. sensors.
Try swapping them and see if it starts.

Well I found set at a wrecking yard, after crawling under over 100 cars, that the ends were messed up, fired it right up, now to find a pair at a reasonable price..... $60 each is the lowest price I have found. Also found a replacement 5 speed out af a 1986 car with only 28K on the speedo for $101 with 6 month warranty. Suddenly there seem to be a lot of donor cars around the Dallas area, where were they when I really needed them????

omorales is on a distinguished road
more info on these t.d.c. sensors? my 6 isnt getting a spark at the plugs either, the distributor cap is broken so i know that definitely needs to go out, but could these t.d.c sensors also be causing a problem?
