My wife was driving home and said the car just stalled out like it was out of gas. I noticed the red oil light was on (as well as "low oil" in the message board...aagghhhh!) and put in 3 quarts to bring it to level. The car turns over but will not start. It sounds as if it isn't getting any fuel. I suspect the fuel pump may have gone but I recall hearing that if the oil gets too low the car will shut itself down.
All lights are still on after topping off. Thank you for any input.
Have you try removing the fuel pump fuse and placing it back on?
I don't remember the fuse number but I believe is in the trunk area by the battery. I have heard this is how you re-set the fuel pump to release or bring back the pressure.
Yes, I did R&R the fuse. I also tried the "magic reset" and pinning 7 & 19 while turning the ignition to the "run" position. None of that worked. I'm going to replace the fuel filters (I have a sneaking suspicion they have never been replaced) and see if the pump is working. Thank you for your input. I'll update later.
