Yep, check coolant level and maybe even water pump.

Ok. Im going to look into that today. In addition, I put only the highest quality gas, but I was recently told that the second to highest is just fine... Is this true?

Use premium.

Check your coolant. Do not drive on high engine temperatures as it can and will warp the block making your engine useless.

When I noticed that the gauge was all the way in the red, I was already parking at work. The coolant light was not on, so I figured it may be an electrical issue. I then turned the engine off and then started it up again, and the guage returned to normal/warm. In addition, I didn't smell anything, but what do you think? Im going to the shop directly after work, but I value your opinion. Moreover, my camshaft position sensor is acting up and I just received the part but I have not installed it yet. Could that be related? the error code did refer to the circuit. let me know, thanks.

Thumbs up

Thanks again. I addressed it and it was due to the very low coolant level.

Glad to hear it wasn't anything more serious

I just received a new camshaft position sensor for my 2001 3.0 X5. Can anyone forward a diagram of where and how to get to it. If possible please do. Its the intake not the exhaust. Preditta420@yahoo.com
