My aunt that lives in New York just got her new 2005 X5 in today. She asked me how does the winshield washer work. I don't know because i don't have an X but maybe you guys can tell me so I can tell her as soon as possible. She is very pleased with it too. She said it drives firm.

How does it work? It sprays cleaning fluid onto the windsheild which is spread around by wipers that move to the left, and then to the right.

as far as i know the new X5's still have a stalk on the side of the steering colum. even with auto wipers i think there is still a conrol stalk on the colum. however with the auto wipers when the sensitivity is turned up which would be like increasing the delay on normal wipers they aren't nesecerily consistent, becasue the sensor still has to see water on the lens before it will wipe. the washer function you have to pull back on the stalk to get the washers to work. then the wipers you just push the stalk up or down and there is a knob in the end of the stalk that you turn to increase the delay or adjust the sensitivity of the auto wipers. and if she has any other questions the owners manual should be a helpful; tool in finding the answers.
