| My E39 calls for ATF to be used in the PS reservoir, I've been using Valvoline Synpower ATF.
Your E32 may call for a Pentosin product called CHF 7.1, or the synthetic version called CHF 11S.
Check the manual, or look at the cap, mine reservoir cap has ATF written on it.
