Uber-Pea is an unknown quantity at this point
So my check engine oil pressure light went on today. So I pulled over and checked my oil. I had about 3/4 so I filled it up with an extra quart. The light turned off for about 5 mins... then it came back on making a slight ticking sound in the engine.. any help please? thanks

I've seen this on other boards and it turned out to be a faulty pressure sending unit. I would start by replacing that and maybe sticking an oil pressure guage in to check the pressure.

No it wasnt a sensor failure because the engine was running heavy and also it was making a slight ticking sound as if the engine was not getting enough oil. I drive a 95 740iL, could this maybe be the "Nikasil Issue"?
