Our 3157 Kits are now available at http://www.jlevisw.com in both Amber and Xenon.
They are $40

This kit includes everything you need to convert your front corners to LEDs:
-(2) 3157 LED Bulbs (Each 24 LED Matrix Design)
-(2) Load Equalizers to eliminate "Bulb Out" warning
-(4) wire taps to install Load Equalizers

Benefits:
-Instant on, instant off blinking. No more slow "fade" blinking like halogen bulbs
-Crisp 6000K color - Unmatched by any "hyperwhite" incandescent bulb
-Virtually no heat from actual bulb
-No egg yolk - bulbs are perfectly clear when off
-Reduced price as compared to many "Chrome" bulbs (Many of which cost as much at $75!!!)
-Complete kit with instructions and technical support
-Nearly a perfect match for our 6000K HID Kit
-Never burn out!

Installation:
-Bulbs simply plug in. No modification required to the housing
-Load Equalizers tap in with easy junction taps (SEE DIAGRAM)
-Upon purchase, you will be emailed the link and password to our Complete Instruction Guide with color pictures and multiple installation suggestions. We are the ONLY retailers who provide this instruction guide.

Please Note:
-This kit includes Load Equalizers that will heat up to roughly 200 degrees Farenheit. Consequently, the equalizers have 15" wires on each end, to allow you to run them into a FREE AND CLEAR area in the engine bay. Our instruction guide offers 3 possible solutions for mounting them to a METAL, NON-PAINTED surface, away from plastic or flammable components.

(Pictured on an E46... please submit your pictures on an X5!!!)

Thanks all!
JL

How do these work with the low voltage supplied to provide the equivalent of 5 W marker lights using the 21 W filament bulbs? The marker function is achieved by a supply of 3.5 approx. volts but the indicator/brake function is supplied with the full battery voltage.

We supply load equalizers to fix this

How do they work? The marker light signal is around 3.5V, the brake/turn signal voltage is the normal 12.5V. LED's biased for 3.5V will burn out at 12.5V and if they are biased for 12.5V they will not light at 3.5V.
There is only one circuit in the X5 and the voltage is controlled by the LKM and I am led to believe it is the same for most/all mordern BMW models.

Oh I'm sorry - we're talking sidemarkers.
Our sidemarkers are set to run on the same voltage as incandescent bulbs. Not sure where brake lights come into play, but our front signals function at the normal 12V.

Basically we make the bulbs function as stock with the use of load EQ's

Side markers front & rear in the X5 use 3.5 Volts to provide the lower light level for side markers and 12.5 Volts for the turn/brake lights function. i.e. The same bulbs/filaments are used for both functions. There are not two separate circuits to provide current to two different filaments but different voltage levels to achieve the effect.
