My dad recently inherited a what I think is a 1980 633CSI. I'm glad that the car was free so my mom can use it. But, the problem is that the car will not work. First off, I charged the battery and got the ignition to go on. I can hear the fuel pump working. But, the motor will not turn over at all or crank. The mechanic where my dad got it from said that it is an electrical problem. The mechanic is saying that it might be the computer. The previous owner said that it might be the starter. I really don't know. Could anyone please help me on trying to figure out where I should start first? Please let me know. Any information will be helpful. Thank you.

if the starter won't turn the engine i doubt that it is a computer problem. if the starter DID crank the engine over i guess there could be a chance that the coputer is at fault but definatly not the only possibility. check battery terminals. sometimes if they are coroded real bad the ignition can still come on but the wires can't carry enoug current to tunr the starter. it kinda sounds like maybe a starter, starter solenoid or relay.

I agree with you about the computer. Thanks for the advise. Can you point out to me where the starter solenoid or relay is? Please let me know. Thanks again.
