I just ordered a new remote for a 93 740iL, the guy at the dealership told me that i would have to change the chips in both remotes and in the car. He told me that there was a box on the passenger's side. He told me to take out the glovebox and it shoul be somewhere back there. I changed the chips in the remotes and then i went into the car and i found a box but it wouldn't open, it was right above the glove box. Was it the right box and if it was how do i get it open, if not, then where is the right box.

The alarm module should be on the drivers side not the pass side. It is mounted on the knee bolster either to the left or the right of the steering column. Remove the knee bolster trim to access it.
Good Luck,
