Hi again,

Im thinking about getting a X5, the 2002/03/04 models all look the same with minor differences, but are there any major differences?

Also as BMW have released their new 7 series featuring the iDrive system is there any chance that will seep into the X5 or will there be a model update this year?
does the X5 have a AV in like on the 7 series?
And how do you guys rate its GPS system?

I could ask the BMW dealer here all these questions but in the Arab world there utter idiots who are there to sell and rip you off, but here at this forum all you guys are hardcore BMW fans and know your cars inside out

Thanks for all the advice in advance

Faraz
btw cracked the sim card thing, you have to use the sim card in the credit card size it comes in before you pop it out, both BMW here and user manual are useless.

the x5 went through a change in 04. they added xdrive and it had a minor face lift. if you get one go for the 4.4 or higher. the 3.0 is a 6cylinder and isnt as fun as the others

I am looking at a new 2004 X5 4.4i after test driving ...

1. 03' X5 3.0i - didn't like the noise for a car at this price, then
2. 03' X5 4.4i - way better, more money, then
3. 04' X5 4.4i - transmission is smoother. Better engine, 6 speed automatic tranny. Even more moeny.

I was also told that begining with April production, the 2004 X5 4.4i is going to get the panorama moonroof as a standard for the 4.4i for my location.

However, saw some issues with transmission / throttle at the Roadfly forum and the Bimmerfest forum so I am still thinking ... really hard ... as I am pretty much set on the X5 4.4i after test driving just about all its competitor - with the exception of Nissan/Infiniti.

Hope this help.
