840Ci CD Changer High Temp Warning

I just recently purchased a 1995 840Ci. So while driving my "new" 1995 840Ci home from the dealer I realized I hadn't checked to see if the CD changer worked. When I tried to turn it on it said "HIGH TEMP". But it says this even if the car has been off for awhile and is cold. Does this mean the CD changer is shot? Or is there a simple fix or troubleshooting I can do?

The changer accepts and ejects the cartridge with no problem and seems to be in good shape. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Tim

If you want my extra bmw cd changer, I'll be happy to supply it. I've got a 97 M3 with an aftermarket head unit that doesn't use it any more. I'll have the M3 for another few months, so you've got a little time to make your decision.

Sounds good M3UOND. Will it work in my car? 1995 840Ci (stock radio). How much will you be willing to get rid of it for?
