633csi auto-tranny is out of comission

is it possible to put an old 7 series automatic transmission into an 83 633csi?
i know this probably enough information about the 7 series, but i need some help, if i find out more information about the 7 series i will post again.....thanx ppl

from the mobile tradition catalogue the part numbers didnt match up. however. if you were to take a transmission from a 7 series 733i it should match up because the engine is pretty much the same. i am not correct just hypothesising. try roadfly.org maybe or do a search for the old school bimmers on google. your best bet would be to go with a transmission/engine combo then just worry about the mounting scheme which any good auto repair shop can fabricate.

the 7 series is from the mid 80's, if it makes any difference
