opyner is an unknown quantity at this point
i recently bought a 1973 2002. the badge on the back proclaims that it is a 2002 tii, but the badge is in the wrong place. it appears to be added on afterwards. the engine in the car when i got it (frozen solid) had the tii injection, but i dont think its a tii. is there anyway to know for sure? heres what i know...

the owners manual is for a 1602/2002/2002 ti (no tii mentioned)
it has a 5 speed
it has a clock on the dash
the gauge cluster is NOT wood.
i have no clue about the engine being original or not
it is for sure a 1973

tii has manual fuel injection the others are carbureted. How do I know this, I just sold one.The tii is at the right rear of the trunk area, below the Roundel and between the license plate light and the tail light but above the rear marker light, and it should read 2002 tii with the ii kinda falling off and down.

whoever owned the car before me put the tii badge in the place of the 2002 because it is not in the right spot. and i dont believe that the engine is original, even though it did have fuel injection on it.

ive been told that the number on the data plate is not the vin number. there is also a number on top of the steering column. is this the vin number?

The VIN is that small metal plate atop the steering column (about six or seven digits I believe).
