Hey ,I am new to the site so take it easy on me I just bought 01 Z3 and I am going to changer the oil and would like to reset the service indicator light myself if possible? I have went through the Faqs section and couldn`t find anything about resseting the light on a Z3. I was going to have it serviced a dealer but they couldn`t get to it till next week and we are leaving Thursday for Mini vacation and I was wanting to change the oil before I left. They Dealer said it should say in the owners manaul how to reset it ,but I can`t find if it is there. Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks

Believe it or not, you can take it to Advance autoParts and they have the equipment to check your computer and reset the warning lights. This is done for free. It worked with my 1998 Z3.

Its not in the owners manual because BMW wants to make money by having you come in and getting it reset. The reset isn't only for the oil thou. It can be for maint. also. So you may not want to reset it just for oil. You can get your own reset tool on ebay or something.
