1998 750 wipers out of sync.

The car was possibly turned off with the wipers in the up possition and the battery went dead in the interm (not from wipers). After starting car again the wipers will not reset down when they are turned off. They continue to end up when turned off. Do I have to go to BMW or someone with their body control computer diagnostics interface? Is there an alternitive? Manually changing the wiper transmission position?
Thanks, Dave

Maybe try and turn the car off to stop the wipers in the down position.

I turner the car off with the wipers in the down most position and then dissconnected the battery. When I restarted the car it stayed down until using the wiper again and would again end in the up possition. One mechanic said the car needs to be reset through the body control computer. Any other thoughts?

I'll try tomarrow. Thanks
I picked up a wiper motor that I haven't put in yet. I was told it was the problem by the local BMW dealer tech.
