I have a 95 840ci & 97 540ia... Heavy suckers but fun to drive in the open highway. Anyway, not too many people have 8's on this forum and I was just trying to bring some interest or conversation on this model.
I have always like the 330ci. They're well built sports sedans.
That thing is ded sexy. Wish I saw more of them in red.

Red is rare. Most of these models came in white or black. I would like to see a Laguna Seca blue for this car. The M3 & "Z" look great. They do have a green color but I don't think it looks good.
The design was ahead of Mercedes. I think there were trying to go for the exotic look if you ask me.

I always wondered why they didn't make the 8 in a convertible. This is very cool. I've never seen a picture of a convertible prototype 8. I actually don't like it in red though. I think red overall is a bad color for a car unless it's a ferrari.
Anyway this convertible would probably make the 8 super heavy and the handling would be below BMW standards. That's probably why they never produced it. I dunno... just a guess.
Actually the coupe looks better than the convertible. I guess that protoype needs some rims. Those are the classic 15" honeycombs. With some 18's or 19's that red convertible would look alot better. What do ya'll think? Coupe vs. Convertible?
