Hey, names Kyle, and Im new here, figured Id join so i can get some wisdom on parts before i work on my car. Oh i got a 1997 M3 US spec supercharged by Dinan w/ an upgraded RMS unit and cold air intake, lowered with H & R springs and bilstein shocks, quite a few A/C schnitzer mods to it: A/C schnitzer rear spoiler, pedals and foot rest pad, e-brake, grille badge, exhaust tips, etc. The seats are '98 heated Vader leather seats, got a Kenwood 1 DIN deck hooked up to MB quart front speakers, DB rear speakers, and 2 10'' JL audio subs that were discontinued hooked up to a 1000 watt quantum amp, and 120 watt 4 channel amp for the speakers. Got 19'' ADR JM "deep dish" rims, with pirellis on the front and recently new kumhos on the rear, with brembo drilled brake rotors on all four. Got a couple of decals on the outside of the car, the main one being the M-power front windshield decal. Wow anyways so thats my car, Im currently deployed in Iraq for the US Airforce, so ill try to get some pics of my car up. Ill probably be all over these forums trying to figure out which parts I wanna order, I got some big plans for my car when I get back home, and I wanna do my research from other (Im sure) avid owners of bimmers. Let me know what you guys are driving. Cheers!

Yea, Ill defiantly try to take some pics over here, sorry ya wont be able to see much about my job though, lol classified and all that. Pretty bland over here though i gotta admit, very dusty and dry most of the time. New pics of the car wont be up till september/ october time frame, but i do have some pics on my laptop of the car. Ill try and get an internet connection and put em on. Got some big plans for the car when I get back to the states, like new turbo system by Nick G. and ICS should bring my car's horsepower up to about 550rwp, so Ill be selling my dinan vortech supercharger, just a heads up. Its in great condition and all only about 20k miles on it, and itll put a stock M3 right around 360 HP with the upgraded rms unit and cold air intake. :rofl :rock :rock :rock

Finally got a camera, its sweet its the canon powershot sx1 IS not to be confused with the sx10 IS, its brand new and not even released in the states, its freggin sweet! 10 Mega pixels 20x optical zoom, 80x with digital zoom combined, can do full HD movies 1920x1080 resolution, and has the newest CMOS technology offered by canon for their EOS line allowing you to shoot hi res pics at 4 frames per second (basically 4 pictures can be shot continously in 1 second, and you can continuously do that its freakin crazy). So I def took some pictures over here of the base and all that but I gotta be careful what I post if I get a chance. I will though if I do. Till then, adios! :):):)

Very nice ride you've got on your hands. Sounds like you (or a previous owner??) sunk a whole lot of $$ into modding it and it sounds like you have big plans to do more when you get home with the turbo project you have in mind. Very exciting stuff. Do you take her to the track? Have you dyno-ed the car yet?

You well deserve a sweet ride to come home to when your service to this country is done - GOOD FOR YOU and more ///M-POWER to you!!! Stay safe - good times are ahead! Welcome to teh WERKZ.

Hey thanks man, its nice to know people still support the troops. As far as the modding goes, the majority of the major cash put into it was by the previous owner, he put the supercharger system on, all the A/C schnitzer and the sound system( minus the two amps and the headunit), and the two vader seats. I put all the decals on, the head unit was done by me and so were the amps, and little things like the carbon fiber emblems on the hood and trunk and the steering wheel, and the kumho tires i replaced on the back rims(cause uh I am a uh "spirited" driver, lol). They used to have pirellis on em, but i burned em out due to the 360 rwhpthe car has with the supercharger system. As far as the track goes, no I havent been out to the track yet, after I get the turbo put on (if all goes according to plan, Ill have 550 rwhp after that) ill probably try it out.

Oh I forgot, the car has a dinan short shift kit in it also, and a dinan racing clutch. (all put on before i bought it) and its got 65k on it had 62k when I bought it and I got for 14.9k from a Cali dude and had it shipped to Georgia.

^^^^^^^Lucky you on all the mods from the previous owner. Werkz member Teh Prof has an excellent race/performance shop in Atlanta called Performing Imports if you need one. It sounds like you have more than enough "points" to have your car badged "Dinan" as well but check with them or Prof on that (he is our "Captain Dinan"). Do you have a boost gauge? And I am forced (LOL) to throw a comment my Mother has repeatedly thrown at me since my car modding days began "Why do you NEED all that power?? Where are you going to use it?" . "Spirited" driving on public roads, eh? I usually go with the ol' stanby of "it's not about the speed, it's about the acceleration and handling, and the ability to GET AWAY from all those OTHER crazy drivers on the road".... :rofl2

I would make two suggestions to you - first - if you donlt have one - get a high end radar scrambler/detector from Escort and, as Prof and his shop can guide you, have gardwired in and mounted into your roof with laser senors in your front grill near the fogs area, etc. so you have max protection from those who may not appreciate your "///M POWER" decal as much as the rest of us. Second, we have a virtual garage on Werkz where you can post your pictures an your complete mod list for all to see rather than burying it in posts/threads. You have so much nice stuff, why not post it up in your "vbGarage"??? Check for the link on the Werkz home page. Ciao.

Wow you're a wealth of knowledge man!

As far as performing imports goes, Ive heard good things about them, and that they're a certified Dinan dealer which is awesome. :)

As far as dinan goes ya gotta have 10 dinan points to get a dinan badge and the supercharger counts as 10 according to Dinan's site, so Im good to go. :p

As far as the boost gauge and the need for the power: no i dont have one(will def be getting one with the new setup), and cars have become a hobby of mine, I plan to use my bimmer as a daily driver until I get another car, which wont be for a while, since I plan on putting a good chunk of my money into this one. Plus yea ya gotta have the acceleration, and for all those pesky rice beating car drivers, and so i can toast every car in my city of Warner Robins, no one will be able to touch me lol. Plus I love the sound of a turbo spooling up, its the sound of everything beautiful :)

As far as the radar, I plan on getting one of those as soon as I get the turbo in (probably should get it now but which is better or preferred the scrambler or the detector). Now when you're talking about the gardwire with laser sensors, would a viper security top o the line do the same thing? Im planning on getting their newest model the 5901, I can get it for like 300 on amazon or one of those sites and it s got all the features i could need 2 way comm remote start, turbo timer, etc. its their best model and I know Id have to have it installed and all (how much might that cost me by viper do ya think?) but in the end Itll be worth it and give me piece of mind.

And as far as the virtual garage I will defiantly do that hopefully Ill get some good reviews.

Again thanks for all the info, and sorry I know Im long winded, lol

I'm especially long-winded (more than usual ;) ) on Friday when I'm at work and don't wanna be here. For my two cents, if you are putting about 350 to the wheels, you should get a combo scanner/scrambler ASAP. Why would you possibly wait? The Escort system (which I need to change to myself, as my Rocky Mountain Radar Scrambler/detector combo has failed me several times lately to the point where I have little confidence in it. Folks around here I know swear by the Escort (850? I think it is) system Prof has and I was planning to switch over to it this Summer (problem for me is that my roof is not solid so need a work around for that!). The Escort system is hardwired into your car and is both a detector 360 degrees and a jammer for all in front of you with very nice range. I know my own RMR was supposed to jam K & Ka bands effectively, but after I got made twice in one month to the exact mph with equipment my rig was supposed to jam (then needed all my lawyer friends to help my barely wriggle out of both tickets and keep my clean record) I am very worried about what I currently have in the Roadster. I don't know the Viper Systems well, but again, I would definitely recommend speaking with Nathaniel (Teh Prof) and his shop about all your Atlanta area car needs especially his radar systems which I know he swears by as he drives all over the US). He knows the specs much better than me. Also, he may well have family or friends in your area as practically half his family is USMC. See, you find it all on Werkz - great Bimmer info, guns, military folks, even great girlz who love hot cars and guns (and probably military stuff too ;)...LOL

Again, welcome to Teh Werkz and we'll look forward to getting to know you and leave a light on for when you come home!
