IPOD Adapter question

This is a great forum from what I've seen so far. I am looking for some help. I have a 2004 325i. This is my first BMW and enjoying every minute of it. I don't have a CD Change installed but from what I am seeing that I should be able to purchase a kit from iCarKits.com and it will plug into a connector somewhere in my trunk. Is this true and if so where in the world is this connector? Left side, right side and do I need to tear underneath the covering? I called the dealer and to install the kit they want over $700 (parts/labor) and that just seems ridiculous when I can buy the adapter for a little over $100. So I'm a newbie to the forum and to BMW so hoping somebody can help me out. Thanks in advance. Also, it seems like there are several options out there for the IPOD adapters so if anyone has any recommendations I am all ears.
