Battery replacement in 2001- 320i I am a new BMW owner. The battery in my 2001- 320 i has given up. I tested it and got 10.6 volts only. Obviously one cell has shorted. I replaced it with an Energizer for 1/2 the price. The original one has a little vent tube hooked up to vent to the outside of the wheel well due to possible hydrogen from over charging that may get inside the car because it it located in the trunk. I cover the battery with a piece of thick poly and hot glued the nipple to it and hook up the tube. It should do the same job. However, due to the momentary disconnection of the battery, the radio/CD player and the digital mileage read out below the odometer (don't know what it is for) are not functioning. they both show ....,....-...,...
I heard that I have to re-set them. Can someone who knows BWM advise me how to re set these ?? It would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
