i'm scratching my head on this one... there are at least 20 wires connected to the instrument cluster; divided into 2-3 wire socket connectors...
you'll realize diagnostics by description relies solely on how well you can describe what you see, feel , and do... thus, your description of "two wires connected to each side... just doesn't make sense...."
you wanna try again and be more descriptive???
