| 800? i have same car my car does not kick out any real cold AC anymore. its due for a conversion to the newer compressor specs. meaning even if it were possible or legal to get the freon for the older type. one can i heard would cost $800. my mechanic said he would do the conversion, and test for leaks. thats after taking out the old compressor, which cant have freon in it since it is illegal to let freon out into the open air. so i just deal with it as of now. good thing 3 series AC is real cold!!!
id say you are getting ripped off by 30-50% mark up at that service station, for parts and labor. Thats why im happy and lucky to have found a mechanic who owns his own shop on his ranch. <<And hes a german master technician for BMWS!! He has a longhorn ranch, go figure. haha |
