86 is a good year! too bad you dont have an es so you would have an LSD diff.

well here is what you need to do.

To gain a higher redline out of your eta you will need to chip it or take out the 1.0Motronics that is slowing you down and upgrade to what all 88-89 e30 have which is 1.1/1.3Motronic, the only difference in the 1.1M and 1.3M is that 1.3M uses the updated #173 ecu. which is what is going to give you your higher redline which is 6800 and if you chip the #173ecu you will have 7000+ redline.
