Thumbs up Im a newbie too!
we got to e39's in the past 6 months and I am ready for the m5 already! I don't know what experience you have had with other cars, but I have had a few and I can't get over how nice the bimmers are!!! Good luck, there will be a few things that go wrong with it here and there but if you can do the work yourself parts are as cheap as any other make and readily avail.
