Check the bentley service manual for the car. It's in there. The light is supposed to stay on for a few minutes, then vanish.

Either way, every codereader is diffrent. The best $120 bucks I ever spent was on a codereader from Bavarian Autosport. You get your own codereader and this wonderful book of what each means. If you don't wanna spend the money, autozone can read your codes and they have the book to look it up for you.
