Wrecked Bimmer...=(

Well last night my wife hydro-planed and took out a fire hydrant on a corner turn. im speechless i thought bmw's were great handling cars, i loved that 94 5 series but somehow she got the best of german engineering and wrecked.
my wifes fine but thank god for the steel machine it kept her and my unborn child alive. hopefully insurance doesnt cut me a check and salvage the bimmer, well please drive safe and when it rains be mindful.

holy crap dude, ur second post and its bad news...im sorry to hear about ur car....but at least ur wife and ur unborn child are ok...

Good to hear that your family is OK! That's a really crappy deal though, a little elbow grease and perserverance should get the bimmer rolling like new again

The good news is that they are alright... The car can be replaced, loved ones can not.
This said, are you selling the wheels. lol

What id do is take the check from ins. and use it on a down payment for a new bimmer. Thats just my opinion.

yeah, its only a car. (but a really nice one) i have not heard from insurance yet. probably trying to prolong it. but i can definetly see a new BMW in the future! or even if they fix mine. =)

+1 Hydroplaning is a function of the tire and its tire pressure (something like 9 x square root of tire pressure = hydroplane speed). No amount of technical wizardry or quality of build will affect that.

More importantly, +1 that your wife and unborn child are safe.
