Wiper blades?

I read threads about certin model fram air filter being used as cabin filters, What about the wiper blades? Are there any other applications that can be used, like the fram air filters?? I thinks the wiper blades are way too over priced. Thanks for the input.

Not sure exactly what you're asking, but you can lookup non-BMW (aftermarket) wiper blades at the store using the application guide or online by searching 'lookup wipers'. Then put in your make, model and year - you'll be good to go. I've been using trico neoform beam blades and I just posted a string on here asking for other recommendations.

Just change them twice a year. Use Rainx after cleaning the windshield.

my e34 89 525i is not able to use trico wipers I just tried a to put one on but it won't fit even though the guy at the counter looked it up. The bosch wiper are over 90.00. bimmerspecialist sells inserts for replacements for about 12 bucks I will go that route but it is really annoying not to be able to find decent aftermarket blades for this car.

The passenger side fit ok but the drivers side arm has an offset the wiper that the guy gave me at the counter won't fit apparently you need an adapter to get the offset to go to a aftermarket wiper or buy the new blade inserts from bimmerspecialist.

They are my daughters and in order to date them you must provide:

1) proof that you make six figures anually
2) criminal records check
3) blood test
4) be able to run faster than my 12 gauge

Here's my 2 cents worth. I would buy a set of Bosch wipers first. I got a set for about $50 at my Foreign Auto store. This set includes the metal part as well as the rubber part.

Next time just replace the rubber refills.

Note that the blades are not the same length. Also note that you may end up special ordering the parts so try to stock up before you need them.

Anyway thats how I handled it and it has worked out fine.

i dont know if this will help but wiper blades for e34 525i are available for £19 50p +17% vat last time i looked for pair ref no b93943 from german swedish french in england e mail sales@gsfcarparts.com might be cheaper even with postage this company is excellent and sells most parts for bmw 40%to60% off they even supply parts to the main agents i replaced a wishbone on my sons audi a4 there for 40% less than main agent on examination i noticed there were 4 small countersink marks on item on querying this they told me it was to remove oooo marks that audi use as although they suppy audi they are not allowed to sell to public with badge on item! regards david u.k.

thx for the replies I'll just order the inserts from bimmer-specialist the next time I need a few parts. The inserts are about 12 Cdn but I'll wait until I need some filters or fluids so I can combine the shipping.
