Unhappy wing mirror trouble

could do with some advise on how to remove the wing mirror glass on 530i sport and best place to get replacement glass . oem auto tint so bloody expensive:any help would be grateful

You can look for aftermarket parts. They are inexpensive and even more inexpensive if they are bought from online dealers.

Yes, the aftermarket ones are inexpensive & you can also get it with wide angle.

The OEM one is too expensive due to the auto tint that uses special liquid. The aftermarket ones are tinted but not auto tint …. I am using one since 8 months & it is fine … only the color is little different from the second one which is still original

WARNING the liquid in the oem auto tint Mirrior WILL eat your paint! so be VERY careful when removing the glass!! You can buy oem Wide angle mirror glass they pop up on ebay.com alot

Ammmm … & that is why the the casing is black non-painted & also the mirror is sealed with thick plastic rubber frame … I believe to prevent eating the paint … thank you for advise …

thanks for the tip about the liquid , i've just checked the mirror and it seems the liquid doesn't much like the plastic casing either
