I have a BMW model 520 from 1998 which has started to act a little bit strange. If it is raining the windshield wipers often are OK in the beginning but after a while they all of a sudden sometimes stop working. The same goes for the windshield washer. If you stop the car and turn the engine off and on a couple of times they usually start working again and continue to function OK for the rest of the day but sometimes only for a couple of minutes until you experience another malfunction. Very annoying!
Maybe I should mention that the car has automated windshield wipers operated by a rain sensor.
Anyone that has experienced the same problem and know what is wrong?
