Wierd Noise???? - BMW Forum

i have a wierd noise comming from my e34 bmw. It sounds like the front tyres are rubbing on something but i have had a good look and there is nothing rubbing. It tends to happen when i turn right with the throttle on.

Any ideas what it is???

Based on your description and among many other possible problems with the front end first I would check the front bearing. To get to it you must deal with the brake assembly and rotors while at it check those also.

Just had someone look at it for me and they said that it is the coupling from the gearbox to the prop shaft. That needs replacing. Does this sound right? Also is this an easy job or does it require taking the zaust of and other parts.

well propshafts sounds are totally different from front tires sounds. Also
Failure of the prop shaft including universal joints, couplings and bearings. A round flexible rubbery disk held in place with small screws; you'll get away with it without removing the exhaust! cheer
