There is a whinning noise when I accelerate. It sounds like an electric car of some sort. Do you guys have experience with something like this? Could it be one of the plastic pulley?
I have something similar - only happens when I have the air-con switched on, though! So I guess it's the air-con pump or belt so I'm not that bothered. As soon as I turn it off, the noise stops!

I thought it was pulley-related. Thanks for the info. Let me know if you isolate the noise.
are you sure someone didn't stick a supercharger on your engine overnight? pop the hood and take a look..

You are sure its not coming from the radio, like an alternator whine? It sounds like it is from the engine bay? Have you opened the hood and had someone step on the gas while you listened to the engine? (you can also do this by yourself by pulling the accelerator cable to open the throttle body)
