what is wrong with my beemer?

hi all
for those that don't know, the e39 535i has an m62 engine, same as the 540i just has less displacement.

now to my problem,
I was driving my e39 535i at 110kph when the heater stopped heating, I started losing power from the engine, ten minutes later the car shut down. there was very little water in the radiator and the car would not restart, when I tried to start it with the radiator cap off it started spewing water out. Have been told it's the head gasket, but there is no water in the oil. and no mechanic wants to have a look at it, they all say to take it to BMW. any ideas what the issue is?

took it to dealer, it is a blown head gasket

I replaced the whole engine

Why? Unless the block was toast it probably would have been cheaper just to fix the head gasket.
