I just purchased a 2006 530i, and I was wondering how much the dealer would charge to install an iDrive-integrated iPod kit. I have the 6-disk cd changer in the dash, but no auxiliary inputs anywhere. I have the upgraded sound system, so I don't want any FM adapters. Basically, I want to be able to plug in my iPod in and be able to control it via the iDrive. Are there any adapters that I would be able to buy and install myself? How much am I looking to spend? Thanks.
Take a look at the iPod systems offered by Bavarian Soundwerks in Atlanta. I recently purchased their Stage 1 Audio upgrade (speakers) for my DSP system, and their products ship fast, install easy, fit perfectly and are of very good quality. It's a little difficult to speak to someone quickly but they are a good company.
