I have a 1985 528e. Iv been trying to fix the heat for a while now. I'm about to order a new heat control unit because the circuit board on my other one was pretty corroded. But anyways, i was removing all the panneling below my steering wheel, and by my heater controls to get to the heat control unit and i found something that im sure what it is. It was below the headlight guages. Its a harness that houses 3 insturments. One small black insturment that is a speaker with two inputs, on larger black box with two inputs baring the brand SACHS. And a large Aluminum box with one large input made by VDO. The two larger boxes have the bmw part number and then they say 12v. Is there a sight that would allow me to type in the part number, then tell me what i have? Or do you have any idea of what iv got.
