What high flow cats are recommended?

I want to do my exhaust in the near future and I am thinking of using a Magnaflow or Borla muffler, some universale high flow cats, and having my friend make the piping from the cats back to the muffler. I don't see any need in spending the expensive amount that companies charge just because the make of the car... What companies make a reasonably priced high flow cat? On my e36 325i I used to have I used a Ractive high flow cat and their twin silencer muffler and it sounded pretty darn good! But this time I want to use a name brand muffler etc.
Thanks in advance!

David

you guys are lucky you don't live in CA.

As for high flow cats for me, I had to get CARB certified, OBD-II compliant cats that ended up costing WAY TOO MUCH MONEY.

Most of the other high flow cats are 49 state legal. Love how CA is the ONE state not included. :

Although the 540 is a little different from my car 528 I couldn't find magnaflow cats that would work with the O2 sensors before and aft so I bought a direct bolt on system.

Let us know what you get!
