Hey there guys, I have been looking at a Performance Chip for my BMW 525i Wagon(E34). I want to buy the chip and suprise my G/F by putting it in when we switch cars next week (we trade off). The problem is, that I do not have the car right now, and being that we don't live together, I cannot check the ECU numbers to order a chip. The car has the M50 2.5 Liter 6-Cylinder, with an automatic transmission if it helps.

Hey guys, I only need the last 3 digits on the ECU, can somebody provide these, or am I going to have to ask the 3 series guys?

The reason they want you to get the #s directly off of the ecu is because BMW often uses more than 1 control module variant for any given year. Its always best to get the #'s off the unit to save u from getting the wrong chip.

P.S Ask the 3 series guys whatever you want. 1st question should be "Why dont you buy a real car?"
Thank you so much 3ser, that's exactly the information I was looking for
