Water Leak

Hi - I'm new to the forum and am looking for some help please...

After some recent heavy rain I noticed that the rear passenger foot well was very wet The door card is also soggy with mushrooms growing inside it near the puddle lamp.

I've removed the door card to get it dried off but it's not obvious how the water is getting in. Other posts suggest that the sun roof drain pipes can clog and allow water into the foot well but I don't see how that problem can create water in the door.

The car is parked on the driveway which is virtually dead level.

Hope somenbody can give some useful advice

what i would do:

i'd clean up and dry as best as i can... then with all windows and sunroof closed, i would take a garden hose and simulate a rain-like stream... first on the windows only, then on the sunroof only. Then have another someone check and see where the water seeps in.

By elimination, you'll find your answers.

hi, I just had water in my rear foot well too. Initially the garage thought it was from the rear door but after the carpets were removed, it was found to be coming from below the forward carpets and was the water collecting under the left pollen filter. I purchased the car recently and it transpired the car had not had a major service for 25000 miles. Rubbish had collected in the area and blocked the drain holes, which then allowed water to enter the cabin below the carpets. Very expensive exercise. perhaps you can remover the carpets yourself and get some help with someone with a hosepipe.
