I have a 528i year 2000. Car runs and looks great with 77K on it.
The lenses on the front headlamps are worn and look bad.
What is the best way to replace them ? I could replace the lenses at total cost of 700 bucks (part/labor).
Also thinking of converting to HID angel eyes to update the look ?
Any thoughts ?
If you'd like to keep your lights: If the outer lenses are plastic, they can be restored with a compound similar to that which restores faded paint. After that, they can be kept like new with ordinary car wax.
I think you might wanna talk with an auto parts store rep about that to find one good for plastic. I don't remember the name of the one I used on my dad's Volvo. But it worked like a charm!

Zen, I wouldn't worry about restoring them. Go to Susquehanna MotorSports -- www.rallylights.com Purveyors of High Performance Vehicluar Lighting , get yourself some E-code lenses in the Hella section. They are not technically legal in N.A., but i would seriously doubt any cop would know any better to pull you over and give you a ticket. The E-Codes put WAY more light on the road than N.A. DOT lenses. I put E-Codes on my 325 last fall, and they seriously kick ass on the OEM DOT stuff, hands down.
