Vibration with new tires. Instrument cluster failing.
Had all 4 tires replaced, balanced and alignment. Old tires where cupped and there was a lot of vibration in sterring wheel. NOW, I can feel vibration at about 55mph and again around 75mph. The vibration is not in the wheel. When I feel it, I also see in it in the front passanger seat back and in yhe sun visors. It's driving me crazy.
ALSO... my speedometer quit working along with the fuel economy gauge, the odometer and the trip odometer. The ABS, DSC, and brake light are on in amber color.
what year, mileage and model is your car,the 55mph sounds like the infamous control arm bushings, given that your tires were balanced correctly also the kind of tire you put on ,some times balancing its not enough roadforcing them may correct the problem or tell you if there is a problem with a tire or wheel,at least the one in our shop does. Also cupping tires is asscosiated with weak struts or out of balance tires in some occasion i ve been told.try pulling the codes generic code readers may be able to pull a code.
You may have to go to somebody with a high end scanner not bmw specific nesceseraly. Post the codes and go from there, chances are internaly the cluster is toast but thats speculation with out the codes.
don`t fell bad i ve been on a witch hunt for a couple of weeks now same problem.new tire roadforced balanced twice new lower cotroll arms, replaced upper controll arm bushing, new struts, new tires.I think its the tires but iam going to balance one more time . double check i got the right cone.
