Hi, I have removed the plastic cover and insulation blanket off the top of my 540 engine in a bid to cool the intake air. We have had temps from mid 20's to low 40's in the last few weeks. Can anyone tell me if I have caused myself a problem or not??. Thanks.
shouldn't cause any problems, however once the temps start going up it may result in higher engine temps....this is because the cover and insulation help keep external temps from affecting the engine
Thank you both. No, there is no problem and temp sits quite constant at just under 1/2 way but good idea about protecting the intake from outside temps. I had assumed it would be always hotter in there anyway.
