Hello,
I have been in the market for a new vehicle for a hwile now, and I have finally found a vehicle that might suite all of my needs very well. The car is a 1994 silver 525i BMW, and I was wondering how the vehicle performs over time. It has about 132,000 miles on it. Will that become a problem, or will the car still drive well. What were your takes on driving the 525i, and what were the pros and cons of it. I appreciate your help and hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks,
Robert Szanto

this website has a lot of good facts to look over before purchasing. It really helped me when I was looking. My car just turn 133K and it has a few minor problems (all of them do).

My '94 525 just hit 173k w/no major problems for me, all minor nothing that wouldn't happen on any other car. Water pump, aux fan, fuel level sending unit, every other dollar spent I feel was on consumables, brakes, struts, belts, oil. etc. I got the car 4 years and 63k miles old. I do have to say that it was taken in several times for rust on the lower door edges on all 4 doors. It was taken care of under warranty but after the warranty was two years over, rust again. I have had it fixed once on my own (not cheap) but it keeps coming back. I feel its due to the trim strip on the bottom. It holds dirt and grim in. I have gone so far as to take that piece off when I wash the car om Sundays, but it didn't help. The rust is the biggest negative for me. When it gets bad enough I'll search for new doors or have these re-skinned. I don't see myself owning another car as a daily driver.
