Upgrading from single in-dash CD to trunk changer

Do all I do is plug the changer in in th trunk and unplug the in dash?

Just picked up a 01 5401 w/lots of dealer installed and documented Dinan.

Love it.

two things: your car has to be prewired for the changer (and you need the later model cd changer), and you have to have the headunit that will control the cd changer. yes after that, its just plug and play.

As far as it being prewired, it already is ... all BMWs from '89 up were.
