I'm thinking of getting the Umnitza Projector 34 Xenon headlight upgrade for my 530i, has anyone here had any experience with them or have any experience with them? They are quite expensive so i want to be sure if I do decide to get them that they are well worth the money.
Im not sure, but 1. i didn't think that umnitza made their own brand of headlights 2. guessing from the name they are probably depo like my projector39's
I don'k know how they compare, but I love my headlights!

Thanks for the reply. My only concern with the projector 34 Xenon is I have a hard time believing they are a true HID headlight.
Did you get an improvement in brightness from the projector39's over your stock headlights?
Also the projector 34's come with Angel Eyes, I'm not to sure if i want these as they are not true to the E34's styling, do you think I would be wrong in having angel eye's on an E34?
I've seen a couple of 34's with Angle Eyes. It all depends on the color of the car I guess. I say a set on a black 34 with black tinted windows and it looked really nice and clean. At night they really light up the road, in fact they almost blinded me when i was driving towards him.

Well my car is red, and it is very sporty looking, I have the Racing Dynamics body kit and spoiler along with some Racing Dynamic RIMS. So I hope installing a lighting kit with Angel Eyes will suite the car...
It should look just fine and if you don't think they do, just idsconnect the suckers. lol
Looking at their site, the Projector 34 + Xenon is what you need (SHOULD be real xenon, but they don't make it clear that it comes with ballasts). It also cost $549.00. The projector 34 alone is just the assemblies with an h7 socket for standard halogen bulbs.

Hey Sporky, still wanna try making some new headlights for me...?? :P
...on a side note I really don't feel confident they are true HID lights though...as it says H7 base....would you trust it?
Call them up and ask. Make sure they come with ballasts, not relays, etc etc.
D2S bulbs CAN be rebased to H7, 9005, 9006, etc so thats not something that you should really worry about. I'd be more worried about the quality of the projector / beam pattern. A good projector is more than just a round bubble of glass!

Good point, I will give them a call later and ask them some additional questions.
So if they do not have ballasts there is no way in hell they are HID, is that a safe assumption??
How I'm I to be sure of the quality of the projector.
Right, without a ballast, they CANT be HID's, they have something like a 20kV startup voltage or some ridiculous number like that.
Ask the manufacturer of the projector, as if they differ in any way from the projector 34 meade for halogen. Ask if the lense is clear or fresnel. It might be pushing it, but maybe you could get pictures of beam patterns from them? Maaan, good HID equipment without a good projector is just... blah.... They really do make a huge difference. I imagine they're pretty good though. I mean... people who haven't had a FULL HID set up (meaning proper projectors, etc) are totally happy with the jump from Halogen to HID in an improper projector. It's just us few who know how much better it can really be

...I just called Steve at umnitza and he mentions that they do have ballasts, but the projectors are not any different then the stock projectors...your thoughts sporky???
That you can install HID bulbs and ballasts in your stock assemblies and it would be the same lighting performance as their package. I guess what your really paying for is the different looks and angel eye rings.
Dont get me wrong, theres nothin wrong with that, that'll light up the road insanely better than halogens ever will.
But it still wont perform quite as well as a car that came stock with HIDs. Let me see if I can dig up some beam pictures with my old projectors and my new ones. (no promises though, those pix are OLD! lol)
