Trunk Wont Unlock With the Button

I really appreciate this forum. Has saved me lots of time and $$.
My latest problem:
My trunk unlocks with my key, but when I push the button under the dash, it no longer does anything. Any ideas why? Fuse?

The fuse would be my first look.

To clarify, my trunk unlocks with the button on the key, not that I have to put the key into the trunk lock.

I had this problem, the gasket around the button had gotten displaced and was preventing the button from being pushed in all the way. I was able to fix it by using tweezers and needlenose plires to pull the stuck part of the gasket back out. Might be what is causing your problem and explains why the key button still works.

Problem turned out to be the truck lock was in the valet position. The key can be removed in either position, ie, horiz is valet, vertical is normal. Wife did it!
