I plan on buying a complete triflow exhaust system from bavauto.com, as it is the cheapest and haven't heard anything bad about it. I went to e34.net or whatever, and i am convinced they are all retards. -3-0 hp gain on things that work on every other car in existence just seems stupid to me. And I put in my cone filter, and i regret their advice to put a K&N in the stock box. I want to know if any of you have exhausts on your e34's, and what kind of power gain you achieved.
Hey, you're the second person to ask for advise on a tri-flow muffler. I was the first and didn't get any input. So I'll try to give you my opinion on an E39 body.
Anyway, I installed the muffler, single tip, on a '97 540i. I'm not sure on how much horse power I achived but I like the way it sounds and it's lighter than the stock. The stock is a dual muffler, you get the idea, it weights a ton... The car feels faster but must be me... I like it anyway!!!
On a newsletter from Bavauto, they compared 3 mufflers, the scorpio, the remus and the BB tri flow. According to their test, on a '99 323i, they achieved 10-15 horse power gain @4500-6000 rpm and 25lbft of torque @ 2000-4500. They included a chart.. Go to Bavauto.com/projectcar.

If you would have checked the FAQ forum under Upgrades and Performance you would have seen a post on exhausts post. Within that post is a reply (by me) on 5/21/04 that has a link to an exhaust system test that covers 10 systems including Tri-flo.
