| A strange problem with the auto transmission has occurred very recently.
Whilst driving along the highway the tranny seemed to shift into neutral (or at least out of drive) by itself - the revs went up (because my foot was on the accelerator) and the gear indicator dissappeared on the instrument panel, both very unexpectantly. This happened twice within about 20min. Could this be the gear linkage being loose?
Then on the way home from work the tranny shifted down a gear and then up again very quickly even though I was driving on a level road at constant speed.
I checked the fluid level and it appeared a little high.
Is it in need of a good hard look?
Will changing the fluid help? It's been a long time since changing the fluid. |
